Somatic Balancing - A Hands On Mind-Body Approach
These individual sessions focus on creating lasting change within the mind and body by using various types of myofascial bodywork simultaneously with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). The combination makes changes within the body while cultivating a deeper mind-body awareness. They are also specifically tailored to meet each individual’s needs.
Somatic means body intelligence; somatic balancing is a way to support our bodily needs through facilitative touch and mind-body communication. The mind-body are always working together and never separate from one another. Our thoughts and state of mind are powerful and play an essential role in how our body feels and our overall state of being.
NLP is a supportive and gentle way of changing unconscious limiting thoughts we may have about the healing process and our body. This happens when the client reaches a deep meditative state and a conversation can begin between the mind and body. One of the most basic NLP principles is the belief that we all have the inner resources we need to meet our next goal or challenge. We can easily create a more supportive environment for our goals and state of being. Combining facilitative touch with NLP allows for a deep somatic connection, enhancing desired changes and outcomes.
Fascial therapies like Myofascial Release and Cranio Sacral Therapy both have a gentle and caring touch with a strong focus on the mind-body. Fascia is a super highway for cell communication making it a strong catalyst for mind-body healing. When fascial changes are made, it not only supports lasting soft tissue change but has tremendous effects on the nervous system. Physically supporting the body in this way during an NLP exercise only reinforces the new neural pathways that are made during the session.
